Snickerdoodles for the Santa in your life!

When it comes to leaving cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve, we can all agree that it’s often an afterthought. In the spirit of giving, let’s put a little extra effort into it this year and leave our favorite Santa not one, but two tasty treats to enjoy by the hearth after a long day (or season) of Santa-ing is done.

With the release of our seasonal Festive Cheers pack, we thought we’d up the Christmas spirit ante a touch by also creating a Starr Hill-flavored Snickerdoodle recipe for you to try. It takes 20 minutes to pull together, plus 8 minutes of baking time. This recipe (depending on the size of your rolled cookies) makes at least 3 dozen. We hope you enjoy these as much as we have, and make sure to serve up a heaping portion of cookies with a nicely chilled Snicker Doodle Ale!

Recipe:

2 sticks butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 Tbsp almond paste

2 eggs @ room temp

1 tsp Snicker Doodle Ale (or pure vanilla extract)

2 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp baking soda

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, five minutes.

2. Add almond paste and eggs, and mix to incorporate.

3. Add cream of tartar and baking soda.

4. Combine thoroughly then add flour.

Shape and roll in balls (we suggest using a small cookie/ice cream scoop), toss gently in cinnamon sugar (1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 Tbsp cinnamon).

Chill and preheat oven to 350 F.

Bake for 8 minutes and cool.

Enjoy warm!
