Anyone who has visited the Starr Hill Brewery has probably seen the large amber bottles referred to as "growlers" lined up on the tasting room bar. Visitors to the brewery can purchase a 2-liter growler bottle and take home their favorite brew poured straight from the tap at the brewery.

Growlers are very popular with our customers for several reasons. First, growlers are truly a green way to buy beer. Because they can be refilled over and over, there is no packaging waste going into landfills. Second, some people prefer the taste of draft beer over bottled, and the beer that fills the growlers is straight from the tap. Third, there are often seasonal or limited release beers available at the brewery that can’t be purchased in bottles elsewhere, so the growler is the convenient way to take some home.

Become a member of the Starr Hill Growler Club! Members bring their growlers to the brewery to get their fill and they get a punch on a card for each fill. Refills are typically $8.50. After 6 fills, members will receive a credit for $8.50 to our Brewery Store, which can be used to purchase merchandise or beer. Growlers can be purchased for $29, which includes the first fill, in the Starr Hill Tasting Room, in Crozet, VA.
